Little Lambs of Peace General Information

Purpose and Philosophy

Our purpose as a preschool is to provide the highest quality Christian education for children six months to six years of age in order to achieve development of:

  1. Christian values

  2. A positive self concept

  3. Positive social skills with family, peers, and others

  4. A creative attitude toward learning.

Our educational philosophy is based on the premise that children acquire knowledge about the world in which they live through playful interactions. Our staff carefully plans the learning environment at Little Lambs of Peace Preschool. This environment provides stimulating and challenging materials and activities for children.

It is the goal of Little Lambs of Peace Preschool to provide an innovative, creative learning environment that will encourage spiritual, academic, social, emotional and physical growth in each child, guiding them in a caring Christian atmosphere.

The programs of Little Lambs of Peace Preschool will provide a balance between freedom and guidance, group and individual activities, and quiet and active experiences.

Facility

Our classes meet in the lower level of Peace Lutheran Church. We have large classrooms that are ever changing with creative, fun and educational learning stations. We also offer hands-on computer experience. We make extensive use of the gym and outside play areas.

Our Program

Children must be age 3 or 4 by September 1, 2007 to be registered for their respective classes. (Infants must be at least six months old by the start of the desired session; Twos must be two years old likewise.) We provide one teacher and one teacher's aide for each class. Our certified staff are well educated and have many years of preschool teaching experience. Our program is state certified. Little Lambs of Peace Preschool welcomes children of any race, color, sex, creed, handicap, national origin, or ancestry provided their needs can be fulfilled.

Class Size

Class size is limited to 12 children per class in the Infant and Twos programs, 16 children per class in the Threes program, and 20 children per class in the Fours program.

Parent Participation

Parents are encouraged to assist in their child's classroom whenever possible. A monthly sign-up sheet is posted near the classroom. Parents are also requested to provide a nutritious snack for the class approximately 4-5 times per year.
