Ladies of Discovery

The Women’s Ministry at Peace Lutheran Church is known as Ladies of Discovery. This name reflects who we are: Ladies discovering that the LORD is good.  We aim to connect ladies to Christ and each other through Bible Studies, Christ centered events as well as common interest activities.  Our goal is to stay connected to Christ and other sisters in Christ.

There currently are three women’s Bible Study groups:

Monday nights at 7 p.m. in the music room at Peace

First Place at 7 p.m. in the music room at Peace

Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. in the Gathering Place at Peace

Our Secret Sis group involves a number of ladies who encourage each other “secretly” though prayers, cards, and small tokens of love.  They also meet for activities on a monthly basis for such things as hockey games, trip to the Milwaukee County Domes, Cancer and Diabetes walks.  Click here for the current listing of events.

The Loving Hand Quilters meet at church at various times to make quilts of love for the infants baptized at Peace, to send with our Mission Teams, and to meet relief and overseas project needs.

Having a sound body as well as spiritual life is also important to the Ladies of Discovery.  We offer an exercise class on Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. in our Founder’s Hall.  No experience is necessary as we Zumba or dance our way to a stronger body.  This is a free class that usually lasts about 30 minutes.

In August we enjoyed a “Freedom Picnic – Celebrating our Freedom in Christ”.  We know that people are bound by many different things such as illiteracy, poverty, drugs or even human trafficking.  But we discovered real ways how to help break the chains of oppression and it all begins with the hope we have in our Savior Jesus Christ.

God’s Word says:  “If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.” John 8:36  This is the ultimate message of hope that needs to be shared as we utilize the gifts we’ve been given to help others break their chains of bondage.

We are excited about what the Holy Spirit brings to this ministry and how God enables us to encourage each other in sisterly love.
